BNI Western Pennsylvania: An Overview
BNI Western Pennsylvania is the regional arm of BNI, a business referral organization. Local professionals meet in small weekly chapters to pass qualified referrals to one another.
How the chapters work
Each chapter meets every week on a set agenda. Members introduce their businesses, share what kind of referral they want that week, and report on the referrals they have passed. The same structure repeats at every meeting, which makes it easy for members to know what to expect and how to take part.
Chapters meet in person, online, or in a hybrid format, so you can choose the style that fits your calendar.
One seat per profession
Each chapter admits one member for each profession. If you are the chapter's accountant, the other members send accounting referrals to you, and you do not compete with a second accountant at the same table. That exclusivity is a large part of why members are willing to put their reputations behind one another.
Givers Gain
The guiding idea is Givers Gain: members look for ways to help each other first, and business comes back through trust. Referrals are tracked, so each chapter can see what is being exchanged and where it could improve.
Reach and scale
The regional guides describe 41 chapters across Western Pennsylvania. Nationally and globally, BNI reports more than 355,000 members and $26.5 billion in member-generated business (BNI figures; results vary by member).
Next step
The simplest way to learn more is to visit a chapter as a guest. Use the Get Invited form on the home page and the Regional Team will match you with a chapter or a forming chapter that fits your business and schedule.
